What's Happening at Oldfield

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT OLDFIELD – Nov. 1, 2020

Students prepared for outside activities
Many students have quickly adapted to the changing weather and are prepared for the wet and cooler days.  We continue to spend time outdoors for recess, lunch, phys. ed. time, movement/mask breaks and outdoor learning.  Our pre-primary students are outside for most of the morning and they have come prepared with hats, mittens, winter coats, boots and splash pants.  Coming to school dressed for the weather certainly has made outdoor time more enjoyable.  Along with this, students may get wet or muddy so having an extra set of clothes or socks would be helpful for all of our students,

Lost and Found
As previously mentioned, we do not have a lost and found this year.  To help ensure lost clothing is returned, label your child’s clothes with a name or even initials.

Need a winter coat?
Last year, we had winter coats donated to our school and still have various sizes.  If you are in need of a coat for your child(ren), please send me an email at kwest@hrce.ca

Breakfast Program
Our Breakfast Program has been up and running for the past month (or so).  We are following Public Health Guidelines and offering items in the classroom for all students.  Some of the items included in the breakfast bin are: granola bars, cereal bars, crackers, baggie of cereal, rice cakes, apples and apple sauce.  This is for all students since we recognize that some students get up and eat very early, while others may not be hungry when they first get up.

Monitoring your child’s health
Our shared health is our shared responsibility! We need families to monitor the health of their children each day before they come to school using the COVID-19 Daily Checklist.  Here are a few helpful links:
